Why us

The cheap quote and the good quote look identical on paper.

They stop looking identical about three winters in. Here is what we actually do differently, and all of it is checkable before you sign anything.

  • The base gets the time

Nearly every driveway failure in New England starts under the asphalt. We compact the base properly because it is the only part of the job you cannot go back and fix.

  • The scope is written down

Thickness, base depth, phasing and dates, on paper before anyone starts. You can hold it next to any other quote and compare the same numbers.

  • The people who quote are the people who pave

A family business. The person who measures your driveway is on site when the roller runs, so nothing gets lost between the sale and the work.

  • One year, in writing

Every finished surface carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we did is not right, we come back.

Mark your lot

Tell us what you have. We will tell you what it needs.

This is the same read we do when we measure your driveway in person, minus the drive. Two questions, then the answer travels with you into the estimate form.

02 What shape is it in today?

What we would recommend

New asphalt, built from the base up

With nothing there yet, the whole job is the base. Excavate to grade, compact a stone base, then binder and top course laid hot. This is the part nobody sees and the only part you cannot fix later.

The part that fails first

Water is the only thing that ever destroys a driveway. Everything else is a delivery method.

A hairline crack lets water into the base. It freezes overnight, expands, and opens the crack a little wider. Massachusetts runs that cycle dozens of times a winter, then salts the roads so the water that gets in is brine. Which is why the two cheapest things you can do for asphalt, filling cracks and sealing the surface, are also the two that decide whether you are repaving in ten years or in twenty.

How sealcoating works
Alligator cracking across an asphalt surface, the pattern that shows the base underneath has started to move
Cracks connected in a web mean the base is moving. Sealing that is money spent on a surface that is already finished.

Word of mouth

200+ properties, and almost every one of them came from someone telling a neighbour.

Referrals have been the whole business so far. We are collecting those into a public profile now, so what has been said on doorsteps ends up somewhere you can read it.

Questions

The six things everyone asks us

  • How soon can I park on new asphalt?

Three days for a new driveway, 24 to 48 hours after sealcoating, and the same day for most crack and pothole repairs. New asphalt stays soft while it cures, and rushing it leaves tyre marks you keep forever. We give you the exact date before we leave the site.

  • How long does the work take?

Most residential driveways are one or two days on site. Resurfacing is usually a single day. Commercial lots run one to four days depending on square footage, and we phase them so part of the lot stays open the whole time.

  • How long should asphalt last?

A driveway built on a properly compacted base, sealed every few years and with the cracks kept filled, gives you fifteen to twenty years in this climate. The maintenance is what decides it. Skipping sealcoating is what turns a twenty-year driveway into a ten-year one.

  • Do you give free estimates?

Yes, and they are written. We come out, measure the surface, look at how water moves across it, and put the scope and the schedule on paper. Nothing is quoted before we see it, because square footage and the state of the base are what decide the job.

  • What do you charge?

Asphalt work is priced by the square foot, and the number moves with the size of the area, how many lifts it needs and what the base is like underneath. That is why we measure before we quote instead of putting a figure on a website that would be wrong for your property.

  • Which towns around Greater Boston do you cover?

We work across Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Waltham, Lynn and the rest of Greater Boston, out to about an hour's drive. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call or text and we will tell you straight away.
